Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. Today we did a really easy one hour walk from the strangely named Bodium Boating Station, which is actually in Newfoundland. It was perfect for kids and finished at the Lime Wharf Café, one of our favourites. This walk in the summer at least would be great with kids, it’s pretty short, manageable with a pram and no stiles.
We parked up at the café and it’s only a short walk on the road and across the bridge before you’re walking in the cricket field and along the River Rother. The sun was out and the birds were chirping, a perfect afternoon. We walked up a quiet road and along a byway before a nice gradual hill through a crop field and back into the village. We passed a quaint church before the short section of the road back to the café.
We needed to do some work today so we sat in the garden of the café with a couple cups of joe and nerded out with our laptops. After a while Tris was Hank Marvin so he ordered some quality nose bug. The food was great and amazing flavours, homemade buckwheat bread and beetroot hummus with carrots. This place has a really nice atmosphere and a lot going on with the campsite and the boat hire too, you could spend the whole day here.
