Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. You’ll be pleased to know that Tris’ dislocated knee is recovering well, but the physio recommended not to push it too hard, so today we opted for a shorter hour-long walk around Chiddingstone in Kent.
We were blessed with good weather and the walk was full of all sorts of lovely scenery. We crossed the luscious River Eden which was bustling with healthy looking lily pads and we walked through sheep and horse fields.
We walked past the cutest miniature horse too, presumably a falabella, but we are no equine specialists. The parking for this walk is nice and simple in Chiddingstone High Street. Chiddingstone is a quaint little village with lovely old buildings and it is home to the National Trust Chiddingstone Village as well as Chiddingstone Castle.
After a little wander down the high street at the end of our walk, we dropped into the Tulip Tree Tea Room for a drink and I had a bit of food. Tris opted for a goat’s cheese salad. Goat’s cheese really is delicious, isn’t it? You really can’t go wrong. There are a handful of styles on this walk, all pictured here, and we consider this walk dog-friendly with not too much walking on the roads and the tea room allowing dogs too.
