Penshurst Spotted Dog Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! The spotted dog has been on our wish list for a long time so after devising a great 2 hour long route with minimal road walking, we hit the road and aimed for Penshurst. The spotted dog has some really unique food just wait until you see the short rib of beef!

Parking was simple in the pub carpark and the footpath is right alongside. The views are lovely on this walk and although it was a bit cold today we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine. Tris found this peculiar no handed climbing challenge on a random post with footholds so make sure to tag us with your best effort, 20 seconds is the time to beat! We saw sheep along the way and found a toy gun which tris had some fun with. There is a steady uphill towards the end of the walk too which is a great last minute heart rate raiser!

The spotted dog is an idyllic cosy English pub and they had the fire blazing when we arrived. It was bustling in here! Such a great atmosphere and lots of friendly punters and staff alike. We ordered a few great starters and the pollock tacos were a great choice, so juicy with the perfect hit of spice! We couldn’t decide between the roast and the meaty sharer so we got both!

The short rib of beef roast was such a good twist and tasted amazing! If you’re feeling hungry the sharer was more than enough for two of us and the flavours on all of the meats were incredible. We came up short of finishing our food today which is a rare phenomena. For once our eyes where bigger than our stomachs!
