Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. Today for our walk we went to Fletching for a lovely two-hour walk stopping halfway for a bit of a caffeine recharge at the Griffin pub. We found this great spot just off the main road to park up and then as luck would have it as we began walking down the road we saw a shortcut into the golf course to avoid walking on the main road. What a result!
The walk takes you through the golf course and up a muddy footpath before reaching a cow field. You’ll come through the recreation ground in Fletching and after a short jaunt down the high street you’ll reach the Griffin. This is a really popular pub well known for its food and atmosphere. We stopped in here for a swift coffee at our most interesting table yet, a piano. The second half of the walk takes you past a lovely church before a long crop field. We even saw some nice horses.
You will have to walk along the road to get back to the car in this one but it’s only a short stretch and there is a grass section at the side of the road that you can walk on.
