Penshurst Bottle House Inn Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. For our walk today we decided on a nice twilight walk around Penshurst finishing up at the Bottle House Inn for a lovely dinner. We both just love walks at twilight where everything seems so calm and looks so magical. We parked up at the pub and set off on our walk. Within moments we spotted a rogue trig point and decided to check it out. This was quite a rarity for us finding a trig point in the southeast as we’ve only ever come across them at the top of mountains. Let us know if you find it as it’s ever so slightly off the path!

This is a great dog walk with very little walking on roads and with good dog access. Even the pub will accommodate your dogs. We passed through vineyards and passed horses on this walk as well as finding some huge parasol mushrooms. There was even a striking looking sheep that someone vandalised and spray painted red(!).

The final stretch of the walk takes you up a couple of hills which is perfect to build an appetite for dinner at the Bottle House. Our dinner at the Bottle House was excellent. We got such a nice little table right by the window. The food and drink were great and the truffle chips were a real winner. It was first built around 1500 so it’s a nice old English pub. It has a lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff so we’ll definitely be coming back.
