Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! We drove to Lindfield today for our walk and scoped out Goddenwick farm where they have loads going on this time of year. There is a Christmas tree farm with a little trail; santas post box, a bauble shop; farm animals and a cafe too!
We parked up and the footpath was right there alongside a field with a grizzly looking alpaca, who unfortunately failed to come over with our gentle encouragement. Before long we had a fallen tree to negotiate and a deer proof stile too before we were walking amongst the Christmas trees.
This was a really groovy 1 hour 45 minute walk with very little road walking and just one major road crossing to be aware of.
Back at the farm we explored the bauble shop and then went to see the goats and donkeys before hitting the cafe.
Roost Sussex is a really nice cafe, nice light wooden interior and pleasant staff. They had to email me over the receipt as they’re paperless at this place so I was skeptical that they are cashless too, but fortunately they are not, cash still accepted! The almond croissant looked good so I had one of them, and we each had a good sized hot Java.
