Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! Danehill was the location of our walk today and if you’re lucky you’ll see the marvelous blueberry steam train chugging along!
We parked up at Heaven farm where there is loads going on, a gelato parlour; a restaurant, a kids play barn and camping and mini golf in some months. We headed out for our walk first and finished with The butlers pantry restaurant on our return.
This walk crossed the Bluebell steam railway line and we were just saying about how cool it would be to see the train, when we heard its whistle. So we legged it down to the tunnel and caught a view of it in the nick of time!
There were such cute cows along the way, really fluffy and looked a bit like Mickey Mouse. We found a nice rope swing as well so did a bit of swinging, and passed under a railway bridge too. This walk is 2 hours long and there are 4 stiles all with good dog access.
The Butlers Pantry is a really classy restaurant so we changed footwear at the car before coming in. We missed the food today unfortunately but the sausage rolls we had were perfect to fill a hole and the pork was reared just a stones throw away from the restaurant. It was a lovely old wooden beam venue with nice Christmas decorations and is nice and warm inside too!
