Leeds Park Gate Inn Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! Today we drove over to Leeds village for a walk with great views over the castle and finishing up with a nice roast at The Park gate inn

Parking for this one was very easy in the pub carpark and there’s a short section on a grass bank along the roadside before turning off into the golf course. There are some handy gongs provided on the golf course to alert the golfers of your whereabouts, they’re good fun too!

It was an icy day today, bit slippery under the foot but that meant amazing frost and frozen lakes to enjoy. The castle had scaffolding up today so that wasn’t as beautiful as normal but luckily we are easily satisfied and hitting the pin in the middle of the frozen lake by sliding a stick along the surface was satisfying enough!

We saw some hardy yellow mushrooms in the woodland but not sure what they are, and as we were leaving Leeds castle we saw a train car thing too.

We were going to stop for a coffee at the castle cafe half way round but billy goat gruff at the castle gate informed us we weren’t allowed, So we scurried back to the park gate inn for some food instead!

The park gate inn serves up typical pub food and is nothing Special but we are just grateful that there are still pubs around with our government stealing so much revenue from them. I had roast turkey and there was a good portion of meat which I was pleased to see and Chloe enjoyed a nice bowl of mint soup!
