Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! We drove to the coast today for a walk with tremendous views over the rolling hills and wild ocean. Cuckmere haven is a truly beautiful spot and well worth a visit. We parked up at Cuckmere Inn where we would later stop in to have a bite to eat. Remember to plum your car reg in at reception here and tell them you’re stopping in after your walk.
We were flabbergasted to find a dead mouse in Tristan’s walking boot and after solving the mystery of how it got there (watch our stories to find out how by the way) we set off up the hill!
There were lots of animals on this walk too and we discovered these bedraggled cows amongst the trees just before the beach.
The views over the area were incredible today and we even stopped to take some snaps of Chloe for her social media. There’s a cool river that runs into the beach that would be super fun in the summer. But we walked back along the muddy path between two rivers and back to the Cuckmere Inn.
The Cuckmere inn has everything you want, and is well positioned in this great area right by the footpaths. We relaxed and warmed up in the lovely restaurant and enjoyed a sharing platter and a drink.
So if you’d like to do this walk the link below takes you to the OS map! See you in the next one!
