Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks.
Today we took the Spa Valley steam train out of town and headed towards Eridge for a short one hour loop walk. The Spa Valley needs funding for a new bridge so we are doing our best to support them. There are different event days on the steam train and today we enjoyed the cheese and wine train where we had local cheese supplied by the cheese shop in Tunbridge Wells.
We had a really nice selection of cheese including a great Kentish Blue and Winterdale Shaw served alongside crackers and chutney. The red wine went down a treat as did Chloe’s cup of Rosie Lee. There are awesome event days like beers and afternoon teas on the steam train and the Spa Valley runs as a normal service too most weekends where you can just turn up buy a ticket and hop on.
We hopped off at Eridge and after a small section of walking down a back road we were walking through lovely fields on a fine English summer’s day. This walk is only one hour long and it’s nice and simple with no styles and just a couple of kissing gates. There is a nice woodland section and great views across Eridge.
Tris didn’t have time to drink all his wine on the train so he took it along with him on a boozy walk. Luckily there was no need to drive anywhere today as we jumped back on the steam train to Tunbridge Wells. You can park up for this walk in Tunbridge Wells and there’s parking in Eridge too.
