Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! Our walk today was in Nutley where we pulled up in the Yaris right by Nutley Coffee House and headed off towards the Ashdown forest in search of the Nutley windmill. This loop walk finishes up an hour later with a great bit of nosebag at the coffee house.
Parking is simple on the main road and the walk takes you down a bumpy farm track and through some fields and woodland before you get to that old familiar Ashdown forest scenery with open tracks and yellow gorse.
The grade 2 listed Nutley windmill is a nice feature of this walk. It used to grind grain and was still in used in some capacity up to 1972. It’s nearly 200 years old and in a great state of repair!
This walk is totally dog friendly with no stiles to mention and the coffee house is dog friendly also. We sat down to eat and got a jacket potato each which was great and very reasonably priced and the coffee was great too! A great little place with a good menu and a decent selection of cakes as well!
So if you’d like to do this walk the link below takes you to the OS Map! See you in the next one!
