Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! We drove over to Ticehurst today and parked up on the road to try out The Coffee Pot cafe. We enjoyed a lovely brunch before taking the public bus to Flimwell, and then a scenic walk back into Ticehurst and touching the edge of Bewl water.
The coffee pot turned out to be quite the hidden gem. It was quiet inside and the food was scrummy! I love a sausage and the classic fry up had really good quality ones as well as tomatoes on the vine and some amazing potato Rosti. I had to get the French toast as well, really good stuff and came with berries and cream from the renowned local dairy at Hinxden.
I had my favourite smoked salmon with eggs and a bowl of granola as a dessert which was packed with loads of tasty pecans, terrific! After our brunch we walked to the high street and took the 1066 bus towards Hastings. We alighted at the old Wardsdown bus stop in Flimwell and begun our walk, heading down the farm track and into the Tuldgey wood. It was a lovely day to be out and about and we saw some cute lambs along the way.
The walk is only an hour and 15 minutes long, it’s dog friendly and there is only one stile to be aware of. If you fancy a longer walk this one continues all the way from Hawkhurst and you can even catch the same bus!
