Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks!
A blinder of a walk and meal today over in Waldron where we visited The Star pub along the way. This pub is brilliant, in the middle of nowhere with the most epic beer garden and delicious food. We had lunch with Chloe’s parents today and were blessed with excellent weather so we could sit outside.
We were staying at the lovely visitation cottage this weekend so it wasn’t a long drive for us to get to the parking location.
The walk is 2 hours 15 and we stopped for lunch half way round to break up the walk for little Bodhi. The walk included crop fields and woodlands where we showed Bodhi a ladybird and encountered a big herd of cows. The Star was fantastic, a lovely friendly country but and there is table service outside which we love. Chloe’s seafood platter was quite the spectacle with lovely prawns and crayfish, and whitebait that she had not had it in years!!
The starters are worth getting here as they are of a decent size, and my roast was thoroughly enjoyable. English pubs in the summer are just SO GOOD. As you leave the pub just take the 1st exit at the square roundabout and a short way along the road you’ll find the play park and a rope swing where if you’re anything like us, you’ll stop and play around for a short time.
There weren’t any stiles on this walk, no major roads and the pub is dog friendly too. Our walk back to the car was rather pleasant too as we passed a river and some chickens.
So if you’d like to do this walk the link below takes you to the map! See you in the next one!
