Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks!
We were on the hunt for a cruffin today! A totally incredible looking cream filled fusion between a croissant and a muffin. So we headed to the charity cafe at Kenward place. Kenward place is a charity in a big Manor House that serves as a rehab centre for recovering addicts. There’s lots going on like alpaca walks, goat and bee keeping experiences, archery and disc golf.
You’ll walk past a lovely Anglican church before crossing the railway and a nice peaceful stretch along the river Medway. It was a lovely day for us and we stopped to eat a few juicy blackberries that were abundant along the river.
This is a there-and-back walk that starts in a great layby a 45 minute walk away from kenward place. This means you can enjoy a cruffin and food halfway round before the mostly downhill walk back to the car.
You’ll come through teston village on this walk, where there is lots going on, there was loads of cyclists and kayaks, pubs and cafes and holiday homes and boats along the river edge too. Seems like a cool place. After crossing over the river there is a big uphill past horses and through a big crop field. And not long after that you’ll arrive at Kenward place.
The Kenward cafe is super cute at Kenward place and nice to know the proceeds go to a good cause. Tris got a quiche and a vegan Cornish pasty which was particularly good if you don’t mind us saying, but nothing compared to the cruffin; these things are actually so delicious but Chloe got the biscotti one and Tris had the pistachio cream – and they’re honesty so good!
