Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! For our walk this week we went to the market town of Edenbridge, where we first scoped out their incredible Thursday market before a great little walk and then finished up with a bit of lunch at Eden bakes.
The market here is insane, we wish it was on our doorstep. Definitely worth visiting! We picked up a pastry from TonTon Gilles, a coffee from Cuppa and headed off on just a short hour and a quarter walk today.
We parked up in the free carpark and then headed off down the road, along the farm track, across the railway bridge, Past the allotments and into some sheep fields. No stiles on this one and it has great views along the way too!
Other notable events on this walk were some sloes and the last remnants of this seasons blackberries. Tris also found a rogue unopened pack of crisps in a bush which served to be a serendipitous amuse bouche before our meal at the restaurant.
Eden bakes was a nice simple little restaurant with lovely owners. There was a great selection of cakes – though we were all caked out – and a solid food menu. We treated ourselves to a nice sized cappuccino each and we got stuck into our lunch. A huge fry up for Tris with two fat slabs of his favourite black pudding and amazing sausages and Chloe had a really tasty halloumi and egg salad.
So if you’d like to do this walk the link below takes you to Ordnance Survey. See you in the next one!
