Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. Today we did a lovely two-hour walk around Forest Row. We were there in the morning attending a great workshop making oxymels and medicinal vinegar at the legendary biodynamic Tablehurst Farm, so it seemed only fitting to walk around Forest Row. Following the workshop we parked up in the town centre and set off on our walk. You can park in the town for free on Sundays but you might struggle on a weekday, so we have put an alternative postcode below for you.
This alternative starting spot would mean the cafe would be halfway around the walk rather than at the end. There’s about five minutes of walking through town at the start of this walk through a couple of estates before you walk up the long hill out of town and into the famous Pooh Bear Ashdown Forest. If you’ve got a dog they’ll need to be on the lead for the beginning and the end of this walk, but other than that all the styles have dog gates and the cafe at the end is dog friendly.
It was nice to see some chickens on this walk as well as some sheep. Tris even managed to find a bar to practice some calisthenics on. Then we arrived at Java and Jazz. Tris got the chicken buddha bowl and Chloe had a tuna niçoise. The food was really tasty and we’ve also heard they do great pizza. There are plenty of other really nice looking pubs and cafes in Forest Row if you fancied somewhere else to eat or drink.
So if you’d like to do this walk click the link below the ordnance survey route and watch the video to find out more. See you in the next one!
