Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. This weekend, we were staying at Chloe’s parents on the Ashdown Forest, so we went to nearby High Hurstwood for a great loop walk, finishing up at the Hurstwood for a late lunch. For this walk, you can start and finish at the Hurstwood, or there’s a great parking spot on a back road if you’d like to have the pub halfway.
We’ve included both postcodes in the below so you can start wherever you’d like.
Unless you go half an hour off course like we did because you’re so engrossed in deep conversation(!), you should expect a two-hour walk. This walk takes you past horses and through sheep fields and alongside rivers with classic English footbridges. We chose an excellent day for the walk, a good amount of light drizzle to refresh you without soaking you to the bone. Perfect!
This walk has dog-friendly styles and only two small stretches on quiet country roads.
The Hurstwood is also dog-friendly. The Hurstwood was a great place for lunch. This is a higher-end restaurant with great decor and top-class food, so we tried to wipe our boots down before going in. We each enjoyed a Sunday roast which was honestly so delicious. The local beef and homemade horseradish was an excellent combination.

See you in the next one!
