Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks.
We spent a night in Kenardington this weekend at a friend’s campsite and opted for a walk stopping at the renowned wine estate Gusbourne.
Gusbourne is a meticulously put together place and we’ve been wanting to dine there for a while so it was nice to have the chance. We parked up at Gusbourne and headed off down the footpath. This walk takes you through the wine estate with great views across the local flora.
There’s a couple of woodland sections on this walk, one with a cool boardwalk as well as a section past a beautiful lake. Given that Gusbourne is the only English wine estate that features in the world’s top 50 wine estates we tried to smarten up before going in. We had an excellent tour and we were blessed with such nice weather. A lovely afternoon strolling around Gusbourne drinking what may very well be the last of the summer wine.
Chloe wasn’t drinking today with her bun in the oven – but Gusbourne sorted her out good and proper with some marvellous cloudy lemonade. The food was hard to fault too, amazing flavours and such great combinations of tastes. We stayed for the three-course meal that is offered here but they also have a light menu that’s offered in the daytimes during the summer and served outside under the lovely pergola. There are three styles in this walk that we’d consider dog-friendly too.
