Hurst Green Eggs To Apples Cafe Walk

Today we drove to Hurst Green in East Sussex for a 2 hour 20 minute walk down into Etchingham that then loops back round with a long gradual uphill which really works up an appetite for Eggs to Apples Farm Shop and Cafe @eggstoapplesfarmshop which is there waiting at the end.

You can even get the train to Etchingham Station for this walk and enjoy a halfway stop at the cafe.

The Eggs to Apples Cafe has just been extended and the menu is really good.

There were so many options that we couldn’t decide between so we ended up getting 2 plates each like a couple of pigs. The waffles were really good and the homemade scotch eggs were brilliant also. There’s loads of local produce available here and the cafe is open surprisingly good hours.

The walk takes you through cow fields and they seem tame enough not like the excited cows that we encountered in the Cotswolds! There is a nice woodland section and a number of styles (see below) – one of which located by the train line didn’t have a dog gate so beware. There was eggs and some huge marrows for sale on one of the footpaths but disappointingly we had no loose change on us to make a purchase.
