Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks.
Today we went to the quiet village of Isfield for a lovely two-hour loop walk following a stretch of the River Ouse with a pub stop halfway at the Anchor Inn. We first stopped in to the Isfield farm shop and cafe to pick up some local produce and then parked up for a walk in the local recreation ground car park. Free parking!
This walk started off walking along the bulging River Ouse before a lovely section walking through the forest.
Tris managed to somehow fit the biggest Scotch egg we’ve ever seen in his jacket pocket that he picked up earlier at the farm shop. The perfect mid-walk snack.
The Anchor Inn halfway was a great place to stop in and warm up. We’ve been here before and they do boat rentals here in the summer as well as great food. The coffee was good and the log burner was lovely and warm. On the way back to the car we found some horses, a rope swing, a balance beam and a bridge to climb underneath making it a tremendously eventful walk back to the car.
