Ewhurst Green White Dog Inn Walk

Welcome back to Kent & Sussex Walks. Today we wanted to go to one of our favourite pubs, The White Dog in Ewhurst Green, that does unbelievable food. We managed to plot a really manageable 1 hour 45 minute walk with views of Bodium Castle and a section along the peaceful River Rother. We parked up at The White Dog and took a short walk down the lane before turning onto the footpath. Straight away we were met with great views of Bodium Castle as we walked through a sheep field.

This walk takes you over the Kent & Sussex Railway and if you’re lucky you’ll catch views of the steam train. A small section of the footpath on this walk was fairly overgrown so make sure to pick up a stick along the way to beat the brambles back slightly. We saw alpacas and horses on our way back into Ewhurst Green and a steady uphill was great to work up an appetite. The White Dog didn’t fail to disappoint and we had some delicious food!

The presentation of the food was amazing with the prawns taking the spotlight. Chloe was pleased to see they had a healthy crab salad and Tris stayed true to his addiction of Sunday roasts, perhaps a habit formed from being tragically deprived of them as a child. The White Dog has a really lovely friendly atmosphere and is a pub that aims to get really local produce which we love to see.
