Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks!
We went to the iconic White Horses Inn in Bodle Street Green today and had a late lunch after a lovely scenic 1 and three quarter hour walk. The pub had been brought back from the brink of dereliction in 2022 and it’s great to see it back running on all cylinders!
There was a lovely light breeze with beautiful blue skies today. Tris practiced a bit of balance beam on a fallen tree and had a bit of a scare on the last step but luckily no limbs were lost! We overcame a load of stiles and check out the clips at the end to see if you could get your dog through! We walked past loads of cows and spritely chickens along the way, and it made my mouth water in anticipation of lunch at the pub.
The white horses is a really unique pub, almost feels like being at home which is a great feeling and there were two log burning blazing away when we got there too. Tristan’s falafel starter was a good choice and clearly homemade with amazing texture and it came with a little salad too. All of the food was good but the best bit had to be the desserts, both the waffle and the chocolate and honeycomb cheesecake were seriously tasty! It must be the fattest slice of cheesecake we have ever been given in a pub and crazy good value at only £7.50!
