Five Ashes White Garden Tea Room Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. Today we went for such a good walk around Five Ashes, stopping halfway at the White Garden Nursery and Tea Rooms. We’ve had to wait for a long time to do this walk because they’re not open on a weekend, but it was definitely worth the wait. The parking is nice and easy in a handy lay-by on Newick Lane, and it’s only a short section down the lane before hitting the footpath.

Within minutes, we saw some of the first lambs of the season, and boy, they are cute. We also saw horses on this walk, and calves too. The White Garden Tea Room was so nice and definitely deserved their incredible 4.9 rating on Google. We luckily made it in the nick of time before the kitchen closed, and both had a coffee as well as the prawn papaya salad. It was so delicious, and the salad must have had 10 large prawns, so good.

It was pretty pricey for a tea room, but it was 100% worth it, as the food was amazing. The rest of the walk was equally beautiful with daffodils, peacocks, and sections along a little river. The walk was about two and a quarter hours long and had a selection of styles, some of which appeared to have no dog gates, so do beware. The end of this walk does have a section along the fairly busy Newick Lane, but there is room to walk in the grass bank at the edge, so it’s not too dangerous.

So if you’d like to do this walk, just click the link to find the Ordnance Survey route. See you in the next one.
