Ightham Mote Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex Walks. Today we drove over to Ightham for a cultural morning exploring the epic National Trust property Ightham Moat. We didn’t mind paying for parking today as National Trust is a charity and unfortunately an unprofitable one that only stays afloat due to a high number of donations. Ightham Moat is a fully moated building full of history and character and it was great to look around.

The cafe closes kind of early so we decided to eat before our walk today. Unfortunately there wasn’t much food remaining and the hot food had already finished so we made do with a few random snacks and Tris had a lovely pot of tea. After finishing our snacks we set off on our walk. This walk was on well-established footpaths that are typical of the paths surrounding National Trust buildings. There was no stiles so this walk would be great as a dog walk and there were fortunately a few good hills to get the blood pumping.

There were great views from up on the hills and we encountered horses along the way too after a nice woodland section. So if you’d like to do this walk just click the link to find the ordnance survey route. See you in the next one!
