Litlington Plough & Harrow Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! We drove down to Litlington in East Sussex today which is a really popular spot for walking. It sits right on the edge of the south Downs and there are amazing views that everyone comes to see, as well as cutest traditional English villages. If you’re lucky you’ll spot the Long Man too!

We had intended to visit Litlington Tea Room but it’s closed until April, but Not to fear there was a pub across the road that we have been to before and it’s highly commended – the Plough and Harrow. There was an elusive mutton dish on the menu, so Tris had to go for it, and it was an excellent choice, such big chunks of mutton, and Tris needs some extra protein with all this gym training I’m doing at the mo, so it was perfect! Chloe had a proper doorstop sandwich, a total beast and a mere snip at just over a tenner.

The walk is an hour long and nice and flat with only a couple of stiles. It passes 3 lovely churches and Theres a nice section down the river where we saw some swans. The walk grazes past Alfriston which is a quaint village if you wanted to stop there and have a look around!

So if you’d like to do this walk the link below takes you to the OS Map.
