Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! Today we razzed it over to Matfield for a superb 1 hour and 20 minute walk featuring a lovely village lake, some fluffy cows and an epic boardwalk! We finished up at the Star inn for a drink to top it off!
Tris scoffed down an elusive malt vinegar pickled egg that his sister made him as a Christmas present, and with that; we set off along the way. A quiet road and then a farm track to start before a lovely woodland section. There was a nasty nip in the air today, it’s been a very mild winter so far, so this was a good day to test our resolve!
Three different coloured sheep walked past us in perfect unison, which was a delight to see before we had to practice some balancing to get past a slightly boggy area. A fallen tree was blocking the path so Tris got some much needed agility training in by leaping over it.
The star inn was a cosy pub and we were tempted by the great pies on the menu. But we had dinner at another pub later that evening so we just settled for a lovely cup of coffee and a fresh lime soda. Trying to be partly healthy during this lovely Christmassy season when it’s so easy to be a glutton!
