Hey guys and welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks!
We were staying near Rye for what turned out to be a glorious weekend so we did a great three and a half hour loop walk into Rye from our accommodation. We stayed at Little Lavender Cottage which was so nice where we got a little hamper of goodies including bread and homemade blueberry and lavender jam on arrival. If you’re doing this walk and not staying at Lavender Cottage there is free parking just down in the village opposite the Iden post office and we’ll link the postcode below.
We encountered goats sheep and horses on the way into Rye and Chloe had to wrap my hoodie around her legs to protect herself from the vicious summer nettles!
Rye is such a cracking little town with loads to see and we ventured up the oldest working clock tower in the world for an epic view.
We stopped off for a quick coffee at the Kino but there are honestly so many good options around for food and drink. There isn’t much walking on the road at this one. One section did look pretty brutal but fortunately there was a handy homemade path that appeared just off the main road in the nick of time so we made good use of it. There was a plethora of styles to overcome so pay close attention to these clips to see how dog versatile they are. You can also do this walk from Rye or even Rye station as we walked right past but you will have to find and pay for parking.
We’ve linked Little Lavender Cottage just in case you want to stay there too. So if you’d like to do this walk just click the link below to find the Ordnance survey route.
See you in the next one!
