Upper Dicker Village Shop Cafe Walk

Welcome back to Kent and Sussex walks! Today we visited Upper Dicker for our walk and went to the charming and proper old school village shop where they have a great cafe – for a bite to eat.

We parked up at the shop and decided to have our food first because the cafe closes at 1pm on a Sunday.

We sat outside in the just about bearable weather today because Bodhi has a tendency to wake and cause quite a scene. Luckily the great coffees and tasty food kept us warm and the baby was a good lad and stayed calm in his fancy sling and let us enjoy our meal in peace.

Tristan changed it up and had a halloumi and hummus burger which was really good with a solid helping of chips. And Chloe had some healthy eggs and avocado. A friendly vibe and old fashioned atmosphere here at the village shop, it was all rather pleasant.

The walk takes you up the road before turning off into a lovely field with great views. There was a nice river you walk alongside for a small stretch, A quirky stile; and you’re also able to stop in at Michelham Priory house and gardens as the walk takes you right past it. This is a medieval moted building with lovely gardens and there’s a working water mill here too!

This walk is an hour and a half long and only has a couple of stiles with good dog access, and the cafe is dog friendly too!
